Students have been using what they have learned about ratios and proportions to create a scale drawing of the classroom. First, students needed to draw a rough sketch of the classroom. They then needed to collect data to fill in measurements on their rough sketch. Students used rulers and yard sticks to find the dimensions of each component of the classroom. Once their rough sketches were done, students started to create their final drawings. We decided together on a scale to use so that the drawing would fit nicely on the paper. Students carefully measured the dimensions for their scale drawings and created a key to label the various components of the classroom.
